One-time free spay/neuter is available for pets of qualifying families if you live in Waco with a Waco water bill.

In summary, dogs and cats must be microchipped and spay/neutered (in addition to being vaccinated).
Neighborhood cats (outdoor, or indoor/outdoor) can be eartipped (instead of microchipped) at the time they are spay/neutered and vaccinated for Rabies.
Thanks to donations from CrazyM Photography and CyberRanch, we are excited to offer FREE surgeries for Cattle Dogs (Heelers, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds.) These are limited depending on available donations.
Cattle/herding breeds are the 2nd most commonly euthanized group of dogs at our regional shelter. They are:
- bred indiscriminately.
- bought on impulse with little knowledge of the family training the breed behaviors require.
- As “teenagers” they are typically undertrained (they have a high-energy instinct to herd, be mouthy, and need plenty of room to and activity)
- their adjustment down to a low-space shelter confinement is different; they don’t “show well” in the cage, thus are difficult to adopt out and likely to be euthanized.
We are SO thankful to our donors who share our passion for keeping dogs in loving homes through accessible, affordable spay/neuter. You are important to results-based specials like this. Contact us with questions or click here to make an appointment.
